What kind of boost you looking at how much HP are you looking to make. Scat, Eagle are both name brand kits. You may want to look into forged kits being you are gone with a W engine they will take much more power then a 5.0 block. I can say I just picked up a forged 408 Scat kit it is used 4000 miles that is it all I can say it looks great as far a finish on the crank and rods. I also have a Eagle crankshaft and Scat rods in our other car and it also looked good.

as for power the sky's the limit. What kind of price ranges should u expect to see a kit go for?Another question if i may. I want to use my roller cam in my 79 351w, i was doin some reading and i'd need to get retrofit lifters. Is that correct. I was looking at crane cams lifters part number 36532-16. Is that all i'd need to run a roller cam?

Uh, well with you running a stock block the sky is far from the limit. Yes you will need the lifters you are talking of if you are gone to run the hyd. cam. there are other ways but your best bet is to run the retro lifter. As for price it depends on what you get Billet,Forged, cast, so 1000 to 5000, Do some search work on it. But with a stock block a forged kit should work for you and they are around 1600 maybe a bit more may be a bit less depends on if you get any upgrades.
