Took my crank rods pistons flywheel balancer 28 ounce, over to the shop to get balanced and the shop after 2 weeks says I need a 50 ounce flywheel and 50% harmonic balancer to get it to balance
With the balancer I gave him and the fly wheel it would take 128 grams to balance it

As far as I know if your harmonic balancer and flywheel are 28oz., the machine shop shouldn't have a problem balancing your parts unless one of them is damaged or the shop is unaware that your doing a windsor 351 base and not 302.

 

What brand crank is it???

When I had my stock rod 393 balanced, it took 150 bucks in weights to get it to balance. It was a 28oz. balance and a Scat crank.

 

Well I heard from some other people that build a 393 that its normal,
That the balance shop will balance it to the easiest balancer,
As long as the they are both the same, Just struck me as a suprise and now I am out the cost of the balancer and flywheel,
