Default Gains from 3.73:1/LSD?

For those of you who have swapped the stock gears out for 3.73's and a Limited Slip Differential, do you have any info on how it impacted your ET's at the track? Is it good for a couple of tenths? More/less?

Also, hypothetically of course, but who would a MF member contact if he/she wanted to purchase a new Detroit Tru-Trak LSD? Rough price?

TIA!

When I was at Evolution they said going to 3.73 wouldint do much for me, the 4.10 I'd be better off with.......

28 check here for the TT

Call Summit and double check per Detriot Tru trac

EDIT Mustangman below found a better price than Summit.

If I remember correctly someone picked them up for around $420.00 or close to awhile ago maybe Fast Specialties?

It looks like the guys running 373's vs stock tend to pick around a couple tenths on the avg.

http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...-75/index.html - you could also get a TA rear girdle and have a bullit proof rear end

i would say 4.10 gears to, especially since these 4.0s seem like they like to rev, 3.73s just arent gonna be enough, even with a centri blower, they still dont even seem like enough, i dont know why people make such a big deal over 4.10s, the final drive ratio isn t 1:1 any more like it was in you old 65 or whatever, its .68/.75, 4.10s will be fine, and you should still have over 20 mpg on the highway

This is correct for a NA car. But again its not that simple even for NA car, you have to factor in rim/tire diameter. If you have a short tire, you may run too tall a gear, and you will find yourself running out of gear when you trap.

Yep, you can just run a taller tire if the revs bother you. A lot of it has to do with preference. It also has to do with exhaust drone, which is what hit me. When I ran 410's, it increased the drone on my magnadrones (magnapacks) when I used to have em.

Also, taller gears are great for centris cause it gets you to boost faster and helps maintain boost on shifts.
Shorter gears are good for turbos.
Not sure on roots, but my understanding is that Dave@EE prefers the stock or 3.55's on his Xcharger. Need verification on this.
For juice taller gears was nice cause it got you to 2500rpm faster.

Again, you simply just can't say 4.10's are the best, because it depends on your application, and then there is the subjective preference factor.
