Default a bit unclear

i was on the explorer express website, and it says the hi-po kit just has a different intake and mafs...is that all it has? i thought it had a smaller pulley making like 9 psi? hell if it is still making 6 psi and is putting out what owners are dynoing with the hi-po kit i need to switch around my f/i priorities. i originally kinda scoffed at it because i would never go over 7ish psi non-intercooled. anyone know for sure what is in the hi-po kit over the cali kit?

You're right, the hi-po kit looks like it just has a K&N style filter. I would imagine the tune is different for the hi-po kit as well. California emissions laws only allow a certain air/fuel mix during a smog check for registration.

No it does not come with the9psi (8-10psi) the pulley it comes withis the same psi 6psi (6-8psi) pulley as the CA version, you have to purchase the 8-10psi pulley from B.amachips separate.

Bscotties dyno and 13.2 second run are with the smaller pulley, I would go with that along with the hipo if it were me.

EDIT: Along with water injection. I would have all three if it were me.

Yeah, but i believe that Doug dyno'd the Hi-Pro version with the upgraded pulley(8-10psi) and got something like 288whp/280wtq. I could be wrong though(which isn't often).

I've always been confused though, with the water injection....In the winter when it gets past the freezing point, wouldn't that mean that the water would freeze and expand causing some fracture in the line or something? i mean chemistry was the only class i stayed awake in during school lol. Unless maybe they fix this by merely using a line that flexes like rubber etc.... Would anybody know if this would be a problem?

Bscottie is on the west coast in CA, so freezing weather is not probable. For the rest of us, water/meth is the way to go or all out meth during the winter months.
