I knew you would have a more thorough explantion.
almost buying a wrx and helping my friend work on his gave me pretty extensive knowledge on forced induction for not ever owning a forced induction car. Plus i'm on the cobalt forums as much as i am here LOL!

Cant you also lower your boost with one of those? I dont really know my friend says he does that with his sti but maybe hes just lower ing from the 5 above back down to stock. Again i dont know so noone kill me. o_O
I think you technically can go lower boost than the spring is set for, but i can't see why you would.
To lower boost for daily driving. The electronic controllers can do it, I don't see how a mechanical controller can do it.

well why wouldn't you just use a lower psi spring from the beginning and use a boost controller for the boost you want for performance, then keep the low boost for daily driving? i dono...that's what i would do.

Thats why I got it. To go with 17psi spring for daily driving, and then use the boost controller to up it for the track/race gas. I'm looking at three tunes, pump gas daily driver, pump gas race tune and race gas tune.

Already surpassed that number with preliminary numbers before the cams, heads, headers and bits and pieces that is going into phase 2.
