Is this normal?
Hey,
So I have a C&L CAI and a Brenspeed 93 and I've had it for a couple months, but recently I noticed that when I hit top gear, and take my foot off to coast, when I put it back on I get a "grumbly" noise from the engine (not the AMAZING revving up kind.. like a painful sound..).. the rpms just stay the same and it sounds bad unless I gun it up and then the needle jumps and it sounds fine..
I don't know if I can describe it any other way..
I suppose I might just be paranoid with all the crazy bad stories I read on here from you guys..lol.. but is this something I should be sketched out about?
Thanks.
PS. I also see my calipers have been scraped by my wheels because the paint has been chipped off in those areas (they rub when I jack the car up and spin the fronts..).. is there any way to space them out further?

It's hard to picture your circumstances from the decription. So you're in top gear and get back into the throttle. Are you lugging the engine at low RPM (at <1500)? Are you (manual) or the car (auto tranny) downshifting, and if so does it affect the noise you're hearing?

So I see your car is an 05.. does this mean its still running fine?
I just want to make sure my car won't blow up.
Do you have a CAI or anything?
Oh my bad.. ya you do.. lol
So this thing you hear/feel, is it like when the stang is cruising along and you are done accelerating, you let your foot go off the accel, and when you wanna pick up speed again you push it down, but it kinda grumbles?
thats the best way I can describe it.. I put the car in over drive and it kinda went away, I feel like this is because I have another gear to use so its smoother..
maybe try out your OD when you're driving and lemme know if it changes things..
