I've got the Pypes complete system: True dual, x-pipe, street pro mufflers and the shorty headers. I bought the headers last, and it definitely changes the tone...more aggressive. My exhaust turns alot of heads and no one believes it's a v-6. My local mechanic/race guru did the header install and said it was a piece of cake...$175 to install and about 2 hours. I did have some issues with my mid pipes, left side had to be heated and bent slightly to come out straight. I just bought a digital camcorder, so when it comes in, I'll post a sound thread. I do agree that ceramic just doesn't seem to be worth the $$$. I got all my Pypes gear on Ebay, through Blue Oval Industries, out of Virginia. Cheapest prices I could find, and no issues.

yeah, early on i thought ceramic was the better choice and theoretically i'm sure they benefit but i no longer think they make any significant difference in the real world on a street car. and for the price diff, no longer worth it to me.

hey, besides exhaust tone, did you notice any difference performance wise right after header install? thanks

It wasn't a "knock you back in your seat" difference, but after the header install I added my C & L Intake and Bamachips SCT 93 Tune...I have no doubt that the headers made a difference and worth the few hundred $$$. I haven't dyno'd it yet, but I'll bet at least 10 hp freed up. since the stock "headers" exit into one tube, whereas the shortys each have their own port. It makes sense that it will result in more hp, because you get three times the exit gases. IMO, it's a no-brainer for the money, and will only enhance any other mods you do to the engine, gears, etc.

stock manifolds are tubular so theres not going to be much of a gain with shorties, LTs will net bigger gains
