a Limited slip diff (aka tlok, posi, sure-grip etc) has clutches or gears (eaton and Detroit) which splits the power between both wheels and allows one wheel to turn faster when going around corners
a locker is all gear driven and "locks" the rear wheels together, then when you turn a corner you get the loud clunking and chirping of the wheels to allow it to slip around the corner
a spool makes both rear wheels turn at the same speed regardless of what direction you are going
and if your only going to do a stock 8.8 vs build the 7.5 build the 7.5,
properly built 7.5 > stock 8.8
