Default 05 with idle problem

here goes the 1st post

almost everytime I shift into neutral to coast to a stop the idle goes up. sometimes as high as 2500+ where it'll hang for a couple seconds (until i come to a complete stop) before returning to the normal level. I haven't gotten any check engine lights and the last time I brought it in for an oil change the guy said that it was normal and caused by the ac kicking on. so i did a little test and drove with the ac off and still had the problem. Any ideas what the problem is? it quite annoying idling at 2500 at a stop light with everyone looking at you. also the car is 05, v6, 5speed.

Mine does this every once in a while. I was told its just the drive by wire system. One thing that could help is resetting your throttle body. you can use the search function to find out how its done!

I have an 05' manual also, and mine does the exact same thing (really annoying)... Seems worse when the engine is cold. I've learned to just hold the clutch in at red lights but would really like to find the root cause of the problem...
