Can the stock engine handle boost without being built?
and you guys are talking totally stock engine right? no valve train, no heads or rods, totally stock motors? also is it more worth it to just build a 7.5 rear or swap up to an 8.8? it sucks we cant find 3.55s or 3.67 for our rear and 3.31s are long as hell
BTW- nice pony, awesome idea swapping a six speed in your v6 haha I was thinking of doing that one day down the line.

The TR6060 6-Speed along with 4:10 gears is the absolutely perfect combo but is a little on the expensive side to do! I made my own parts to do the swap. If you are interested send me a PM.
oh really? cuz i was thinking of swapping the six speed in from the new v6 and 5.0 like down the line, after i do the supercharger, suspension ect. the one in the new one is the tr 3650 or something i think. How did the T5 handle up to the supercharger?
and I am still planning on daily driving it, its like my street/strip car. thats why I thought the 3.73s may be better then the 4.10's but maybe if I had a 6 speed like yours it wont be better cuz id have an extra gear
Im sorry i meant, maybe it would* be better because id have a sixth gear
Totally stock motor here as well -
at 90,000 miles I took off the nitrous I had been running at the track for two seasons and
installed the Xcharger (upgraded to the Xtreme).
Running 10 -12 pounds of boost.
I now have 171,000 miles on the engine and it ran a best of 12.6 so far on a very rich tune. No problems with the engine; had to replace the water pump at 153,000 miles which has nothing to do with the forced induction. Like Gaylon, the car gets run hard and is a year round daily driver in Southeast Michigan so it sees sun, rain, snow, sleet and anything else that Mother Nature wants to throw at me on a 90 mile commute every day.

The 2005-2010 manual V6 uses a Tremec T5 5-Speed. The 2005-2010 manual GT uses a Tremec TR3650. All S197 GT500 use a Tremec TR6060 6-Speed. The 2011 V6 and GT use a Getrag M82 6-Speed which is now where near as strong of a transmission as a TR6060. The other thing to keep in mind is the gear ratios in the transmissions. The reason I run 4:10s with the TR6060 is because the TR6060 has much higher gears then either the T5 or TR3650. With 4:10s my final drive first gear is very close to what my T5 was and 6th gear is very close to what 5th use to be. This works great on a supercharged V6 because now first gear is actually useful where if I was running 4:10s with a T5 first gear would be way to low for my liking and almost useless IMO. The overall effect is a nice close ratio gear box that keeps the engine in its ideal power band closer than the stock 5-speeds will along with better shifting and far more strength.
