Maybe cus he (friend) didnt include the hook-up instructions and
according to you, it needs a $80 TachAdapter to get it to work.

You gave a brand name but not a model # so I was just guessing
about not needed an adapter from the pdfs I could google up.
You have the info needed to google the model # and determine

More info and I will quit guessing...

p.s. your V6 has a even fire double spark system
thats why it has 3 trigger wires and 6 spark plug wires...
each cylinder sparks TWICE during each complete
compression/exhaust cycle
