So I installed a set of shorty pypes headers and sounded great to the best of my knowledge. I read the American muscle Install and followed it to the tee however after the install smoke poured out from the header area. Is this normal? I didn't hear any hissing noise besides my cai but then again it was hard to tell. I test drove it and besides the smell of smoke from the hood area it ran and sounded great! So is this smoke normal or do I need to check something?

yeah if there is smoke more than a very short burn off something is wrong. I put my shorties on and they smelled but it was just the newness burning off but definitly no smoke.

The smoke died off considerably after letting it run for a while. It was a whit smoke that seemed to come from the cat/header connection area. That was a difficult are to bolt up so I wonder if it could be a leak at the collector. But I didn't see any. so the smell is normal? How can I tell if there is a leak?

There is oil used in the forming process for the pipes in the headers. Most likely just that burning off unless it continues.

I drive it to work with no problems and no hissing noise no smoke so I'm assuming they're connected to the block good but I had a lot of difficulty bolting the collectors to the cats how do I test to see if there is a leak at the cats
