I am not sure how difficult it would be to remove the ECU cover, I never had to do it.

Are you planning on purchasing the tuner from American Muscle?

Let's just say that the TB spacer doesn't help and it's been a known cause of quite a few issues. But even the aftermarket TB's have been problematic, too; as much if not more than the TB spacer. IMO, I'd put the stock TB back on before loading any tunes just to be sure you have the best baseline to start from.
