Default Electronic Throttle Control Light

I was recently on the interstate on my way to work and i noticed that the wrench light came on. When i tried to accelerate my car wouldn't go as fast as it should. I got to work and when i got off i turned on my car and the light was gone. This is the first time its hapoened, should i be worried?

Has it come back on after you started it and drove awhile? The car went into limp mode for some reason but it doesn't fix itself usually. Perhaps something is starting to fail. I would have it checked out by the dealer to see if any codes have been thrown. I had a Lincoln MKZ do that one time and it was the transmission.

Throttle body. Could have had to do with the extreme cold.

Has it happened again since 1-2? Yes, you should be worried, as it's telling you somewhere in the future your car will be "shut-down" by it's computer. We need to know the digital trouble codes generated (DTCs) by this even, in order to chart a course............
