My friend has an SS Camaro and he popped off his tail light covers and spray painted them black and now his tail lights look smoked... Could I do that on my 03 Mustang GT or would it be better to just buy the smoked out kit?

someone makes a spray on tint.....I used it on my old s10 tails....you just have to do it in lite coats....take your time.

using black paint I'm not sure about

I believe that actual paint for taillights is VHT nightshades...
