Default What RPM to shift?

what RPM do you shift at, for fuel economy and also for racing....? what gears do you hold longer than others, and do you ever put it in overdrive when racing 100+ mph? just getting some opinions, curious to see what everyone does....thanks

well for racing your power band on a stock motor ends at about 5500 rpm but red line is 6250 as for fuel economy between 2000 and 2500 is good and if its a manual tranny then overdrive is not an option cause 100+ will eventually lead you to having to shift into 5th gear

5th gear is overdrive in a manual...5th and 6th if you have the T-56.

I shift at about 2000 rpm on a regular driving condition. When i'm in a race setting I go at 5000 or 5500, I don't like getting to close to redline if I don't have to.

Usually I end up throwing it in OD but I've never raced to fast enough where I'd need it. Generally at like 40-50mph I shift from 4th to 5th.

normal driving 1500 to 3000 depends on my mood, if its late or my car is cold or im not feeling aggressive i shift less then 2000. but if im cranked up ill shift at 3000, i try not to go above 4000 on the street, dont know why, i just dont.

if im racing, 1st gear climbs really fast so honestly i cant give an exact figure, but i try not to let it go over 5500 in any gear.
