5 Inch Tac W/light wiring?

Hey, do I need a "Tach Adapter" to wire an autometer 5 inch tac or is there a certin number plug/color in the wiring harness? Thanks.

i believe the only one that doesn't need an adapter is a raptor shift light, but thats not really a 'tach'

What year is your car?

94-94 no adapter- # 48 pin in the wiring harness

99-up tach adapter....

Its a 2004. Im kinda nervous about cutting a coil wire.
