The counter-shaft snapped on the T45, can I put a 2000GT T45 in it, or any T45 from any year? I can just bolt the bellhousing and crossmember from mine onto it right? Anybody ever do this before?

maybe you should go for the TKO500 the T45 from what I hear is weak

Yea it sucks, but I need a cheap fix. It's just my daily driver, so I don't want to mod it too much (besides the lowering and exhaust). Besides this one just has to last till next summer when I upgrade to it's bigger, badder, blower brother.

If the tranny is shot, yes, swapping out a T-45 from another year should work fine

HOWEVER:

T-45's tend to be VERY strong if they are built up a bit. If its still salvagable, I would consider having it built up to be a bit stronger. Less than paying for a new TKO and you dont have to buy any extra parts or anything like that.

After researching all night I found that the T45 from 99 to mid-2001 w/electronic speedo from any car (GT, Cobra) will bolt right in. I got one today from a guy that lives 2 hrs away for a great price. The Snake should be ready to cruise this weekend, now I can park that Volvo that was cramping my style. The old tranny will become a science experiment. I'll tear it open and self-rebuild it (muahahahhaa), it's sure to work! : )
