As for the no start issue the only precaution the car has for a crash is the fuel shut off. If the relay is not the problem follow the wiring down to the starter or up from the starter whichever you prefer. If no problem get a test light after raising the car on jack stands, clip the test light ground to something metal and put the needle part to the large contact on the starter. If the light goes on and nothing happens pull the starter and take it to a parts house and get it tested usually for free. If this doesnt work let me know.

...just to let you all know that I finally got the car started...non-conventionally, but started just the same...I bought a remote starter device that bypasses the ignition switch and connects directly to the starter. It's got a trigger on one end and two alligator clips on the other. It worked! Now it's time to troubleshoot the ignition switch...

by the way, can't push start it, it's an automatic...

regarding the airbags...this was a side impact, where the fender meets the door...the impact took place after a left turn at a stop sign, so the car was not moving fast at all...pulling the fender off revealed no damage underneath...I wonder why the bags deployed??

all fixed...there was some wiring on the section under the fender that was
covered up by tubing...the tubing looked fine but the wires under the tubing
were broken...patched the wires and the car started right up!!

not sure what the wires were for...there were no fuses, only about 15 wires going to a black connector...13 of 15 wires were broken but I couldn't tell because they were covered by plastic tubing that must have conformed back to it's original shape after the impact...I decided to break open the tubing and that's how I found the cut wires.

That would explain the the blown air bags. One of those was probably a wire to the air bag sensor. It lost the signal, and blew the bags???
