If you look back to a couple past posts here, I have read that a tuner did little to help with auto transmissions.

the biggest thing i want it to do is change my shift point so that when i have it to the floor, it shifts at 5000 rather than redline. will it do that?

^^^^^^^^ At tuner will allow you to adjust your shift points, just am not quite sure why you want your car to shift so low. I am pretty sure that our cars make peak HP at a highter RPM thatn 5k, I have my shift points set at 5850 RPMS.

I'd say get a dyno tune to get more power and change your shift points, then get a shift kit to firm up those shifts. The tune might to that as well but if your an auto you need everything you can get...

i have a 98. i don't know about the pi engines, but mine seems to stop pulling so much around 5000, maybe 5200 or so. it just seems a waste to go to redline

My bad I though that you had a 99'+ GT, guess I really need to pay more attention to what I am reading.
