The seam around the rear window of my car is coming apart. I want to replace the top but my window is still good. I heard you have to replace the top with the window attached to it already. Is there any way to have just the window sewn back in. What should i do???
Well, ya but i don't think i can afford the whole thing, I was wondering if it was fixable
When I replaced my top after hurricane Ivan, I went to 3 upholstery shops and they all told me the same thing my adjuster said. "Since the top connected to the glass is coming off, you have to replace the whole top". If your top was **** but the back glass and the strip under it was still intact, then they could reuse it. I don'te really understand that, but all 3 shops told me the same thing.... Cost about $750 to replace the top and back glass. Then I had to get it retinted. Thank God for State Farm!
i had the same problem it cannot be sewn back in reason being the rear window has to be heat treated to where it is coming apart ( the little vinyltop peice between the rear window and the trunk) and in order for you to have that done you need to go to a trim shop something of that nature and they will order the window already heat sealed to that vinyl peice and then they sew that peice in if it doesnt get down whenever it rains you are going to get a $hit load of water back there prices for where i live is 586.00 for the peice and labor
