Default Xcal2 tuner questions

I'm interested in picking up an SCT xcal2. I noticed that the same tuner supports a wide range of vehicles and years. Does that mean that the tuner includes programs for all these vehicles inside of it, or i can modify my existing ecm program with the unit?

Basically if i buy a tuner that was used on a say v6 mustang, can i use it on my GT or do i need to order some tunes first?

Thanks.

you will have to have it unlocked. The livelink software for sct. Download the first one there. It has a button for unlock. I have not tried it.

For as tunes, I have used Dan@pro-dyno.net. I actually just got some with a two-step today

I've just had a bad experience w/ the SCT devices so I'd suggest a dyno tune...

I just ordered my xcal2 and i talked to the guy from mustangtuning and my dyno guy. And well its going to come with one custom tune and then the dyno shop can either play with that tune or start something new. It really depends on who is doing it and if they have the software.
