Default CC plate questions

I am a new member and I have a 2000 GT convertible. I recenty purchased CC plates, lowering springs, and Bilsteins all around. But have not installed them yet. I am wondering how the CC plates will affect the ride by eliminating the strutt bearings. I understand it will allow for more strut travel as well as a better allignment, I am lowering the car aprox 1.5". I am asking because a friend said it will ride like a rock without the rubber strut bearing and suggested purchasing new strut bearings instead of CC plates. Is there any truth to that statement? I was under the impresion it will eliminate the play you feel while driving and improve handeling. I would like to hear from people who have added CC plates and their comments.

Thanks, Silver Stang
