Default whats wrong? HELP!

I just noticed the other day that the rear driver side tire is sitting about 2 inches farther in ( moved up) then the passenger side rear tire. After backing the car up and driving forward slamming the brakes the tire moved to its normal position. Whats wrong? Only thing i cant think is im having the same problem my wifes car had after she ran it into a curb. After having the car aligned by a profesinal it fixed the problem. But she drives a RICER and I dont run into curbs please help!

Default RE: whats wrong? HELP!

Thx for response. I guess the reason i ask here is because after taking my wifes car to two different machanics i was told two very different things..both telling me it would cost between 350 to 500 bucks..one even telling me that he needed to do some minor welding When after taking it to a third party..he charged me 75 bucks to raise the car and make some minor adjustments that involded the turning of a ratchet. Just trying to get as many opinion on theses boards before i take my baby in to have some shade tree machanic diagnose DISASTER! thx anyways!

Go out and push the front end down and let it spring back several times listening and feeling for strange noises and binding.Welding means something BAD.Good luck

75 bucks paid and fixed it right? Well worth it if you ask me.

If your car was leaning on one side, look into the shock aka strut & spring..

You didn't explain your problem very well either. Is the car sitting lower on one side or what?

No the car is not sitting lower on either side. Everything looks good except the rear driver side tire is sitting about 2inches from the front of the fender and slightly veered inward. Driving around doesnt feel any different then before. One thing i did notice before i noticed the problem was "SOUND" After driving the car to the store and parking it..when retrieving some things from the trunk , i could hear a "TICKING: sound...tick...tick..tick..tick.. This sound originated from the back rear driver side of the trunk. And could be hear when the trunk was open..Now there is no sound at all. My daughter noticed the sound at the time also.So I know im not going crazy Anyways im going to take the car in tommorow and hope i dont get reamed. THX
