4.6 cam install

Thanks again. Those articles were helpful. Do you have any idea what kind of performance gains/sound the Comp Cams have (Duration @ .050 is 242int/246exh and .550 lift on int.&exh, rpm range 2200-6200) or (Duration @ .050 is 234int/238exh and .550 lift on int.&exh, rpm range 1800-5800)? They don't give a centerline, but it seems our cam selections are far and few between, so I thought I would go with a brand that I know. I think the lower duration cam would be more usable if you were to stay in the stock limited rpm range, but since I have a programmer I could adjust that limit up a bit to get the most out of the higher duration cam. Sorry for the long posts, and thanks again for the info, it's most helpful.

Actually Comp Cams has a huge selection. I called them several times and each time I called I was given a different cam grind. For the longest time I thought they had a cam of the day they tried to sell. Then one day I decided to call right back after I got off the phone with them. I gave them 3 different cam grinds that I was given in the past and know what their tech guy said? NONE OF THEM! HAHAHA! So I think they spin a wheel each time you call. Whatever it lands on is the one they try to sell you. This is the reason why I did not go with any of their grinds. Besides I've been hearing about a lot of valve train problems with their cams lately.
Take a look at VT Engines cams.

They'll give you the lopey idle you want and nice gains. Originially they were only suggesting these to people with P&P heads. I read not too long ago that these are great on untouched heads as well. I know there's a sound clip for ths cam.
If you're interested in these cams go to www.modularfordpowerhouse.com You won't find them for a better price anywhere else. You'll find them in Specials.

Check this out. You'll see some comments I made about rebuilding my engine, timing the engine and other crap.

RE: 4.6 cam install
I found the sound clip for the VT Engines Stage 2 cams.

This is a dyno sheet of a 00 GT after the cam swap.
The only other mods were comp cams valve springs and Flowmasters.
You tell me if you think it's worth it.

RE: 4.6 cam install
You can get a good set of cams for $525 from www.modularfordpowerhouse.com That's where I got my VT Engines blower cams. Tim is very knowledgeable and has great customer service. You can expect to pay around $800 for the cam install.
