What do the isolators do? Does removing them hurt performance in any way?
They rest between the bottom coil of the springs and the A arm or lower CA depending on if you are speaking about the front or rear of the car. They keep the two metal parts from touching and help avoid squeeking and rubbing which can cause eventual rusting.
