I came across something EXACTLY like this on ebay.

A SRT-10 Ram for sale ($5,000) with 17k miles. I was like [:-], I thought they missed a 0 in that ($50,000) , So I contacted the seller-- we talked, he was from another country yadada, I took the VIN number, did a google search , the REAL ebay auction that sold for $48,000 ended a month ago , I contacted the buyer of that auction, and said hes happy with his car and not selling it.

About a year ago I saw an M3 for 8000 bucks on autotrader. I was exactly the same way you are right now. He said he was in England and was looking to sell the car. I would pay him 4000 dollars upfront and once I got the car I would pay the rest. He told me to pay via western union. I didnt know better then but talked to my parents and they told me to investigate more. I told him I would pay using www.escrow.com which is a legitamate site. He declined and said he wanted to use a different escrow service. He sent me the website and I typed it into the register.com database and found out that it had been made the previous day. It also gave me the guys name, his phone number, and his address. I continued to email him for ****s and giggles and ended up giving him a call. I asked to speak with him (called him by his European name) and was told that he was working. I then had my dad call back and ask for his real name. He was put on the phone and my pops confronted him. All in all I learned a valuable lesson. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

man don't let that get you down. You would feel alot worse if you lost your money and still had no car. Just be patient and the truth will come out eventually. Don't let the money burn a hole in your pocket and make you do something stupid just because you "have to have it". You may end up with nothing.
