You also have to think those dynos are done at like best conditions. They have hood open and blower fans blowing on the car. So of course their going to est. 9 rwhp. Only reason I bought a CAI for looks, sound, and + gas mileage. Which if you think of it as soon as you get it you wanna feel how much "power" its suppose to give you, so you end up flooring it . POOF! Their goes your gas mileage.

getting a quality filter and removing the silencer does exactly what CAI kit would do. I don't think there is really much restriction there on the stock airbox.

Now on my 94 explorer I used to have, you had the TB, 2 foot air tube, air box w/ filtter, down to another box, down to a tube that exited somewhere I did not know. that was ghey lol

Do the CAI kits for the 03/04 cobras really add a noticable amount of HP??

From what I've heard from a friend of mine that has a 04 cobra. They give you a good amount. It's pretty noticable.

cool. I have heard that almost all cars with forced induction respond well to little mods, because they help the blower/turbo work better. I wish my car was blown

No it's not true. A CAI, whether a"good" one or a "bad" one adds very little horsepower. I dyno'd my car a year ago when it was factory stock and it was 226rwhp. I dyno'd it again last fall after adding a K&N FIPK, Flowmasters and a Diablo Predator tune and gained 13rwhp. (239rwhp) I dyno'd it again 2 weeks ago and got the same numbers. Of those mods, the Predator is giving me about 10rwhp. (I changed to the stock tune for one dyno pull), the Flowmasters are probably adding nothing, which means th CAI is giving me 2 or 3 HP.

I might still buy the FIPK if I was going to do it again because I like the look of it. But the drop in replacement filter probably gives just as much HP.

Don't believe manufacturer claims. They test them in optimal conditions with optimal setups and they don't translate to real world usage.

And cut the air box opening slightly bigger.
