Does anyone have a how to page on how to install a fuel pump on a 97 Mustang GT. Is this a job that a semi skilled person should take on.

no- its really a common sense install if you take your time. I put in the SVT pump in about 45 minutes with everyday hand tools. Do a search because I helped another guy out not so long ago with the basics of the install.

if you have a PEP BOYS close by they sell a haynes repair manual (based on a complete teardown & rebuild) it sells for about $15 it showes a lot of things that you can do your self i'v used it quite a bit.(works for me)
