labor costs

Default labor costs

just wondering what some of you have paid to get springs installed, i really wanna do it myself, but im afraid im going to mess something up. also how long can i go with stock shocks and struts untill they go bad from the springs.

I'm thinking the same thing that you are. I called a speed shop today and they told me that it would be around $1000. I don't know about you but that's a lot of cash. Especially when what I really want to spend my money on is to make it go faster. But I know suspension eventually becomes an issue. Hope that helps.

1000 is ridiculous unless hes also adding the cost of new springs, and c/c plates, which you need if you drop low. anyways, shouldnt be more than 4-600 imo without parts. know a mechanic like i do, and get a 40$ labor charge. at that rate spings would cost no more than 240$ to install

You should do the shocks and struts at the same time as the springs. You should also do your control arms as well. Ebay has good deals on this kind of stuff.

1000 bucks for install... now thats what i call bs! it doesnt even cost 1000 to install gears which requires a lot more work =P

This may or may not help you, but messing something up installing springs is very difficult.

That said, don't believe everyone when they say installing springs is a piece of cake, its not that easy, its a good 8 hour day w/2 people.
