RE: what motor oil?
Royal Purple 5w20 is what I run and the car really likes it. I guess Amsoil is good, but I perfer to change my oil evey 4000miles not once or twice a year.
You will get varying opinions on oils. Modil 1 is good, redline is good, Royal Purple is good. Any high end synthetic is good. Just go with what you feel comfortable with.

A good synthetic 5w20 as silver said. There is a poll under the general tech forum and the most popular in the forums seems to be Mobil 1. Amsoil specs seem to indicate its a better choice and is priced competatively. I'd stick with Mobil 1, Amsoil, or Royal Purple. All good synths.

RE: what motor oil?
The K&N oil filters are good. Better than Fram or any others, with the exception of Mobil 1 filters. Hard to find on expensive.
The air filters are bad. Why you ask. It is because of the oil used. It sticks to the MAF causes it to malfunction leading to idle and acceleration problems. I know on several GM boards there are posts on how GM will no longer perform work under warrenty if the car used/uses K-N air filters. How true? I don't know, but it does mess up the MAF.
I run Green filter, yes that's the company name, it is an oil style but is not even close to being as saturarted with oil like a K-N or TrueFlo filter. I have used both K-N and green on my Honda, and the Green was noticably better than the K-N right from day one. Now I have one for my stang and she loves it!

RE: what motor oil?
Now you tell me!! Arrgghh!! Installed an K&N FIPK a few months back. Already replaced my MAF. Not sure that was the problem, but suspected. Now your telling me the oil on the filter may be my problem?!! Now, that would suck.
Anyone else got information on this?
