If you're "kinda tight on money" why aren't you spending what you have on stuff that'll actually improve performance instead? I don't think the shaker hood adds any HP,, and will likely delete your CAI

He's got a point. Also make sure in case you should buy the shaker system that you not just bolt down the black cover but also glue it down. Just the other weekend I drove from LV to LA and with about 85mph some of the plastic studs broke of in front of the piece. It caught wind and it ripped off the complete plastic cover around the shaker in a nanosecond. CDC the manufacturer actually replaced the piece without any problems, which shows character, but be aware of the issue and glue that thing down.

If you're going to do it, do it right. You can get the CDC shaker system, and it will relocate the filter into the engine bay (stock posistion) with a plastic heat shield, if the CAI you have isn't fenderwell, it may just stay. The shaker itself will confer about a 5rwhp difference.. not with $800 IMHO, But if you like the looks.. yea. As well, that CDC plastic cover piece is CRAP!. You can get an OEM hood from Ford for $504.37 (I need a new hood cause some ***** hit mine, so I had to get a quote:P) and it's the solid, good looking, mean as hell mach1 hood. Or you can convert your GT back to stock, sell it and try to get a mach 1 :P Nothin beats DOHC :P (except the 03-04 Cobra, or tons of $$$$ in your car :P(or a blower... + supporting mods)) ANyway, if I were to do it on a GT, I'd save and get a Mach 1 hood. Somewhere on Ebay, a CF version of the hood was going for $500. I may order that one and get it painted, but keep in mind, you'd needhood pins if you did that
