RE: Mustang Bullitt
I never bothered to look it up, I just gave reasons why it MIGHT be lighter... though all the reasons are the same.. Forgot to ac**** for the fact that the bullitt intake weighs a ton more then the stock plastic POS :P

Hey, i am about to purchase a car i am considering the Bullitt or srt 4. They say the Bullitt gets 25/high 18 city. ALso a stock Mustang GT gets the same MPG yet weighs 300-400 pounds more how are they getting the same mpg? Also i currently have 91 3000gt VR4, will a Bullitt's insurance be more than a VR4? I rather have the Bullitt, but if the car only gets 25mpg i much rather have the SRT 4 that gets 30mpg! Does anyone know if the Bullitt gets better mpg due to its lighter weight? And if i granny shift it what do you think the best MPG i can get out the car?

Ok thanks for all your opinions guys. dlazrael you said you get 28mpg on freeway. So with a Bullitt i am sure i can achieve at least 30mpg ; ). Also i had no idea that SRt 4's break down within 3-4 years due to the stress on the engine. SO i guess i wont get one if the engine is going to go bad in a few years. As for a honda i am actually considering the S2k

ANd don't get an SRT4, they mechanically break down in 3-4 years due to the high stresses placed on the motor, and they arent worth a s*** in a crash... ask code3gt about that.

RE: Mustang Bullitt
I own a Bullitt that gets right around 25-26 mpg on the highway, a little less around town as long as you keep your foot out of the throttle body and you really don't need to because it has enough low end to accel with out mashing it. It would definately be a better investment than just about any FWD car for the future and its crash rating is also better so your insurance shouldn't skyrocket. It rides great, handles great and gets more looks at cruise nights or going down the highway. Now, about the mileage. Lets say you drive around 20,000 miles a year, when you compare 25 MPG to 30 MPG the difference is about 130 gallons of fuel for the YEAR so its between 3-400 dollars, or 30 bucks a month more for a MUCH nicer, faster and rarer car. I think that should settle it for you and the Bullitt is a very little bit heavier then an '01 GT but is 300 lbs. lighter then an '05 or'06 GT. My son has a couple of friends with SRT-4's and lots of problems so as every one else here has already said, GET A BULLITT, good luck.
