Default Good advice, tires etc.

Well hello to everyone. Im new to your forums and like every new person I'm here cause you are the experts. Atleast it seems you give good advice.
I spent hours looking through your forums like a good newbie before I asked any questions. It seems there are alot of people for 4.10 gears and I'm gonna go with them. I drive a stock(so far) 2000 gt. 5 sp. I don't plan on a supercharger for a long time. I hope im not gonna freak and feel I made the wrong choice on the gears. (this is the part where you all reasure me). Im sure i am going to need to get tires and rims in the next few months to come. I need suggestions! Even if I don't need them now according to your posts I'll need them soon.LOL Thanks alot.

4.10s are what most 4.6 users go with especially if they have an auto. Why? Because the 4.6 doesn't have the TQ #s of the 5.0. You should be fine with 4.10s.

Most 4.6 users that I have seen or heard (and these forums it seems) prefer 3.73s, so long as you have a 5 speed.

If you plan on adding a power adder down the road, or significant mods soon, 4.10s are too steep imo. A 5 speed car with 4.10s is a very short 1st gear, and you can forget putting it to the floor in 1st with almost any tire, other than a slick.

See I was unsure also about that. My mechanic is steering me towards 4.10. I do plan on doing other mods but I don't want to ruin my warranty. But it ends in a year or so. Maybe I should just go with 3.73's.

3.73 all day long 4.10's are just too dern short as stated above, and you can forget fuel economy with 4.10's,lol go with 3.73's you will be happier for longer im not going to 4.10's or 4.33's untill i install my T-56

I dunno.....PLENTY of people are fans of the 4.10's, and they say the 3.73's aren't short enough for a 4.6, but are great for a 5.0.
