I have a 2002 gt. How many miles can you typically get out of this engine? 200,000??? I have 31,000 right now. At what mileage have you guys found things start going bad. thanks!

dude that engine (assuming its been oil changed and had minor tune ups) is just breaking in. theres people on here with over 120K miles. You just hit the right point for modding

yea your right these modular engines can go quite a ways before anything major as long as your change your oil regularly check your colant do your basic tune ups and if your check engine light goes on take care of it as soon as you can if it says bad o2 sensor change it!!

Cool! thanks guys! I have changed my oil every 3,000 miles since i bought the car brand new off show room floor. I was just wondering, i am not real familiar with the capabilities of this motor. I have put on mac cold air kit, 3.73 gears, diablo chip, flowmaster mufflers w/2 hi flow cats and mirrored window tint, 20" wheels w/35 series tires (real low) and its getting lowered in about 3 weeks. I guess i am just a worry wort about the engine mileage. thanks again!

in my 00 gt i blew the engine at 80000 but i was redline in 3rd meltin rubber away so know the engines limits and it should last you a while specifically i broke one of the timing chains and cracked all the rockers in half on one side doing it was fun but when i got the bill for the new engine it wasnt fun

that does not sound like a good time!!! well hopefully this motor will last me quite a few years. what is the highest miles you guys would go and still be safe for a supercharger installed?

ive seen the v6 go to 206K so i think the v8 is safe for 150K+ if you take good care of it.
