try contacting corporate HQ and see what they have to say. I doubt the dealerships will do anything for free...

RE: Paint is just peeling off!!!
I had rust in my trunk at the hinges. I went and told them to fix it. They gave me an estime for like 350-450 dollars. I told them no way. The body shop manager said it wasn't common and was very unusual for it to be peeling the way it was and on both sides. He knew by seeing the car in person, it was neglected. After dealing with him, and another manager, they got ahold of Ford, then another rep from Ford stepped in, she (hot as hell) came to lok at the car, after about 2-3 weeks of BS and red tape they fixed it for like $90.00. They basically split it in 3. The dealership, FORD Corp, and me. Well I got it for a little less, but I was going to get it fixed whether Ford wanted to back their paint or not.
I got luck I suppose and for $100.00 they did both sides of the hinges and did it right, since I told them it needs to be show qaultiy.
Tell them that, if it's true, that you're cars not neglected blah blah blah and BS with them. Put it this way, I didn't beg for them to do it for FREE but I sure didn't stand back and let them tell me what was going to happen.

RE: Paint is just peeling off!!!
There was a recall on the black paint of the 2000 models and I just now got it repainted for free, I didnt know about till one of my friends told me about the recall because he claimed it too through the recall, and I had 93,000 miles on it.

As CJ just stated above, see if there is a recall on it. On safety issue recalls, Ford makes sure you get notified, on anything else their kind of half assed about it. If I'm reading it right the car is 6 yrs. old and your really going to have to do some real heavy bitchin' about it, good luck.

I know this is an old thread.
How do you check for a recall?
I went to the Ford dealer and talked to the service guy, he didn't look up anything, just said go by the bodyshop and ask for the mgr. The mgr was at lunch so I talked to the asst mgr and he just said there are no recalls on the paint. Would not even bother to look it up.
Anybody know who can look this up, peeling paint on a 2003 SVT Cobra, 16,000 miles?
Also wondering how much value this car will lose after the hood has been repainted.
