Default Forged Vs Stock

What is the headaches of putting an forged assembly into my car opposed to keeping the bottom end stock. Also whats a good company to go with if I were to forge?

The more I think about it its like a house you build the foundation and go from there you dont build the roof first so I was thinking forge but if its just so much more work and money I might think twice. Also if i forge it what are my limits and do i need a heat exchanger like the cobra's or will the intercooler help with that?

Big $$$

I have talked to some people that say it is NOT a good idea to just get the assembly and install it into your shortblock. I guess there is quite a bit to it. I was told even a seasoned mechanic could screw up a 4.6L assembly install if they had never done a 4.6L setup before.

What exactly are you planning to do with the car? The stock assembly is good to about 440~ WHP and 6000 RPM.

Its a long road to get there, your first mod doesn't need to be a forged assembly.

it is definately possible. You are going to need to find a mechanic that works on modular engines regularly.

Its completley possible. What I was saying is that it might be a better solution just to buy an entire shortblock, but thats alot more money.

but it is more expensive for a reason....

I am planning on a forged shortblock soon, as soon as I get a few suspension mods and my "mods" credit card paid off.
