you could just buckle the seatbelt and sit on it. I have a 06 F-150 and I wanted to turn off the chime, but when Reading my manual, it said that a malfuntion with the seatbelt chime will turn the airbags off, so basically if you turn it off and get in a wreck your gonna be pretty much screwed. Now I don't know if the F-150 and Mustang Air bags are set up the same, but If you are worried about these other idiot drivers out here I would read your manual or call the dealership about it. But not to be like your parents or anything, but you should wear your seatbelt, because when you are paralized it's kind of hard to drive and you will live with regrets the rest of your life.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON)
position. (DO NOT START THE ENGINE.)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off.
(Approximately 1–2 minutes.)
• Steps 3–5 must be completed within 60 seconds
or the procedure will have to be repeated.
3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times,
ending with the safety belt unbuckled. This can be
done before or during BeltMinder warning activation.
4. Turn on the parklamps/headlamps, turn off the
parklamps/headlamps.
5. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times,
ending with the safety belt unbuckled.
• After step 5 the safety belt warning light will be
turned on for three seconds.
6. Within seven seconds of the safety belt warning
light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety
belt.
• This will disable BeltMinder if it is currently
enabled, or enable BeltMinder if it is currently
disabled.
7. Confirmation of disabling BeltMinder is provided
by the safety belt warning light flashing four times
per second for three seconds.
8. Confirmation of enabling BeltMinder is provided
by:
• The safety belt warning light flashing four times
per second for three seconds.
or you could just reach under the dash in between the steering wheel and the radio, and unplu that little white box, that's what i did, worked like a charm

I just disconnected the wire that hooks up to the seat belt clip.... Got rid of the chime and doesnt cause any problems... Thats like a 2 minute fix, very simple.
The previous owner of my 2000 did that but I didn't know it. I was on here trying to get help and that hoop jumping routine didn't work. As I started tearing my driver's seat out I noticed he had cut the wires. It turned out that the two exposed ends were touching causing my chime to constantly go off with nothing fixing it. I simply seperated the wires and taped them up. My point - if you cut them don't forget to tape the ends.

Seatbelt chimes are good for when you don't wear your seatbelt - it's a reminder. It's really annoying when it goes off and you're already wearing your seatbelt.

What a moron. theres is a connection to the seat belt clip. You dont need to cut any wires, just dissconnect them. Then if you want to reconnect it for some reason you can. Very very simple.
