Ok, with the performance clutch done, can anyone who has installed their own shifter tell me how the piece of trim comes off?

I think it just pops off? Its been a long time but I think you just pry REALLY GENTLY on it and it should pop off.

I would have to go out and look for 100 percent but I am 99.99 that all you do it pop it loose. Then you unscrew your shifter handle and pull the boot off with the plastic peice.

Thats what I was figuring, and then the cigarette lighter will probably just unplug. I thought it was better to ask then to just start ripping and pulling **** off.

Yeah, you can take a screw driver, with electrical tape wrapped around the end (so you don't scratch the crap out of your car and pry it up just a little bit. Then get your fingers in there between the shifter frame and the boot and pull up. It'll take a little pressure, but it will come out. The MGW shifter has excellent instructions on EXACTLY how to do it. Just follow the directions.

As far as the clutch goes they all came with HD clutches from the factory, its even stamped on them, " HD GT only " or something like that and says Valeo on it. The shifter bezel thats around the boot that has what look like little screws in it doesn't come off, you need to remove the piece of the console thats around that and includes the cig. lighter, it has a seam just below the 3 buttons just below the radio and wraps around just in front of the coin holder, good luck.

only one i can think of is ford racing king cobra clutch hey does it happen to say valeo anywere on the clutch
I'll have to check. When I was looking at it I was thinking he drove it for a while and then decided that he wanted a new clutch. Well, then I asked him about it and he said he ordered the car with it. I didn't doubt him only because the car has just about every option except the MACH 1000.
so does mine... but there is NO point in getting a new clutch to a stock car unless you plan on really beefing it up...

hes full of crap... or hes stupid, and the dealer was full of crap.
