well, after 2 months of trying to figure out what was wrong with my 97 cobra, i'm pretty sure i've either cracked a head or blown my headgasket, seeing as how im hearing a slight knock, im guessing its the head. How much mechanical expierience do i need to replace the driver side head, also, i have found a set of 93-96 lincoln mark VIII heads for dirt cheap. The owner says they are very similar, would they work on my cobra, would it have any ill effects of using one mark VIII head and one cobra head. Does anyone know of a pretty in depth write up on replacing a head or doing a head swap.

I know the Mark VIII head is a DOHC. However, I don't think it is as free flowing as your cobra heads. I may be wrong.

You get what you pay for............. Don't go cheap..


Find someone who knows about cars look at it.. At very least have it done by an experienced person.. Don't attempt it your self if your asking us how to do it.. Trust me.. Work some extra hours and get it done right..

yeah, your right, it would take me quite a while to do it all, i want someone who knows what they are doing to do it, and do it right
