Default Short blocks for gt

I have just come across some money and i was thinking about getting a forged internal short block. The only place that i know of right now is chp. I was also debating on getting the stroker kit. If anyone has any experience with this i would appreciate the help. Or should i just buy a supercharger and run ~400hp?

With the mods you have it doesn't make any since to run a forged assembly.

To take advantage of a forged assembly you either need a build top end ( H/C/I) nitrous, or some sort of FI.

I want a good base when i start (forged internals), plus my motor has 55K on it. I am leaning toward buying some other mods and spraying it till it takes a poop on me and then buildin it up. I have 4 more yrs of school so i cant do nething to radical. What kinda boost are u running 2000gt4.6? and do u have forged internals?

The stock bottom end is pretty strong overall. If you are planning on adding a blower with any kind of real boost, then I would recommend forged internals. The biggest problem with the stock bottom end is the pistons. Putting boost to them and any detonation, they go bye bye. After that the powdered rods go. Most of the strokers we sell, are high comp., fully ported heads and on the bottle guys. We sell allot more of the stock stroke forged short blocks to the blown guys. Bottom line, you need to figure out how much $ you really want/ have to spend. Your best bet may just be a 6-8 psi blower set-up on the stock engine....

I am running 10 PSI, about 415 WHP, on a completely stock bottom end with no problems. Its ALL in the tune. if you have a good tune, you don't get detonation, and your engine lives. if you don't, it won't.

It doesn't make since for you to spend the 3000+ for a proper shortblock with your current mod level. Other than nitrous, anything you do will be big bucks before the shortblock makes since.

From your mods list, what you really need to be looking at is gears, and maybe some more exhaust.
