I don't know about this. With 410's you have to shift into 3rd to hit 60mph
With 373's you are only in 2nd.
I don't like 410's simply because you have to shift into 4th gear at barely 80mph. To me that's bogus.

To me that's bogus.
Why is that bogus?
What if it was 85? or 90?

You still have the same max speed, and mileage is not hurt that bad unless you drive the car hard all the the time.

I can ride on the interstate comfortable, and keep up with traffic at 2500 rpms.

It's bogus because it's ridiculous to have to shift into 4th gear before you're even doing 80mph. I have a 928 that hits 75 in 2nd, and my little Neon is will hit 75 in 3rd. And no you do not still have the same max speed. Do you have 411's? Go out somewhere and take it as far as it willl go in 5th then get back to me, then I'll let you know how fast I can get mine up to with the 373"s. It will be faster because I've proven it several times in my 37 years of driving/racing.

A numerical higher gear makes the top speed more obtainable. The stock 3.27 gear for example, has a top speed of like 180 mph but that wont ever be hit because of aerodynamics. 410s top out at like 160 give or take and you can't go much higher then that because of aerodynamics. Besides who in the hell wants to do 160 on public roads. Thats why you call dangerous.

I love that line, we see it here quite a bit actually.

If you feel it's bogus, don't go around knocking on it because you don't like it. As far as comparing the other cars to it, who cares? If someone has a car that can do 100 in 2nd, would you care if they called having to shift into 3rd to do 75 bogus? No, just like we don't care if you say 'shifting into 3rd to hit 60 is bogus'.

There are MANY MANY MANY members on here who have topped out their 99-04GT's with 4.10's, and the car is still pulling at 150's

So, I am not sure what the point of me going out and getting back to you would be. Sure, in 'THEORY' 3.73's would let you go faster than 4.10's, and 3.27's (stock) would let you go even faster, but the car has to be making a crap load of power at those rpm's to overcome resistance/drag and such. And as I am sure you already know, even with 3.73's, you would'nt go any faster than you would with 4.10's. (if anything, it's possible 4.10's would yield a higher max speed)

Just how much experience do you have trying to get a 2v car to perform from a tree to the traps?

Not much I'd say considering you are complaining about top speed. 2v's need ALL the help they can get, which is why 4.10's is the gear of choice for everybody looking for ways to keep up with other cars on the track & on the street.

Not if you're blown, 373's are faster at the track all other things being equal.
As for keeping up with other cars on the street, how the hell can you keep up with anything on the highway if you have to shift into 5th about 100 mph?
My wifes 3.5 Altima has smoked Mustangs on the highway that had 411's.
To answer your question, I have been drag racing for 34 years.
