Default another o/r x pipe question

I tried searching but couldnt find an answer. My question is will driving around with the check engine light due to the o/r pipe cause damage over time? Isnt the cel telling me that the car is running out of tune? Also, does the computer automaticaly adjust the tune so it will run right? I'm kind of worried about this because I dont want to throw the mils on there to make a light go away while something bad is realy happening

no nothing bad is really happening. Your car is tuned to have the cats there and now that they arent there it thinks something is wrong. A tuner or mil's will get rid of it by telling the computer not to worry about it.

Ive heard it will make your car run somewhat lean. One of the jobs of the cats is to burn off unused gas, without the cats there is more unused gas getting to the rear O2 sensors. The sensors tell the car that it is running rich and leans out the a/f ratio.

If you get the mil's or turn the rear O2 sensors off with a tuner, the computer will run the proper a/f ratio because it thinks the rear O2 sensors are getting the right signal.

When you shut the O2 sensors off with a tuner or MILs will you still pass emissions?

You won't pass a sniff test but if its the test that they plug into the obd2 port you should be fine. O and you wont pass a visual inspection.
