Default theoretical ?

I was cleaning my engine compartment today and i was looking at the intake on my car. i noticed that there is a square whole on both sides of the intake, not really sure what its for maybe suppose to help in cooling of the engine or something, but i was wondering if racing at the track and doing 1/4mile runs back to back, wouldnt there be a benefit of maybe putting some dry ice into those wholes to help cool the intake down inbetween runs?

Why dry ice? Just grab a bag of ice and set it on top of the intake manifold

either on would work, just keep the dry ice away from the fuel lines, but i doubt that it will make a huge differnce ne ways

You normally see the ice packs on top of blowers to cool em off. In your case i dought it will have an affect on the intake temps.

well figuring dry ice because it turns to a gas as it heats up so there would be less water gettion on things in the engine .

I doubt that the plastic used in these intakes was designed to deal with the temps dry ice will produce, especially that close to a hot motor. I could be wrong, but I would err on the side of caution and go with normal ice, if anything.
