Default MAF

what does a larger MAF do exactly in regards to performance? Isn't it just a sensor? And whats the stock size?

Default RE: MAF

A maf stands for mas air flow it measures the amount of air that comes in through the intake it send a signal to the computer to determins a/f ratio and timing curves if you upgrade to a bigger one it will alow more air to come in which is more performance but you can also get bigger ones and have them calibrated for injector sizes for optimal performance you see the maf is programed to work with our stock 19lb injectors if you throught a performance maf in ther for 19lb injectors your fine. but if you through a maf programmed for 42lb injectors your vehicle will not run right because of timing curves you would be running very lean i belive if you do it vise verus 42lb injectors and a maf programmed for 19lb injectors you would be running rich i think I might have that part backward well i hope this helps

You don't need a new MAF until you are Supercharged...adding one now will do nothing for you but waste money.
