A Dyno is a measurememnt instrument just like volt meter or a tape measure.

The point is that it has a specified accuracy. Something like a plus/minus error factor so that if you measure the same motor time after time you will get different readings. Most likely Dynos need to be checked and calibrated just like gas dispensing pumps, drive on truck scale or any other heavy duty measurememnt thing

On top of that the motors will in fact produce more or less power depending on many things like:

Engine temperature, air teemperature, air density, type of gas, what shape the motor is in etc etc.

So you will absolutely will get a range of numbers. The only way to know for sure is to take many measurememnts or runs with a known good dyno.

The guys at the dyno should know if there is some correction factor they need to apply for the temperature or other conditions. Ask them - they should know how accurate their equipment is or is not. [8D]

Any of you live in high altitude areas like the mountains ?

maybe that's at the crank?
That would be high even more the crank. Besides you have to have an engine dyno for that. In otehr words you have to take the engine out and put it on a stand alone dyno. Im going to have to go with gordo on this one and say the only answer is a turbonator. Nothing else would really put out that kind of HP numbers
lol you don't need an engine dyno...you just need to run a simple calculation from rwhp to estimate crank hp [8D]

307hp as he stated and 344trq would convert to

(manual assuminbg 15% loss) 307 - (307*0.15) = 260.95 rwhp / 344-(344*0.15) = 292.4 rwtq

seems a little high for a mustang dyno, but not too far off a regular dyno with full exhaust, intake, and tune

that is still high for those mods. were talking cai and muffler here. he has stock cats and manifolds. so he should put down 240ish maybe. and ive never heard of a dyno shop giving u engine numbers when they read wheel. i highly doubt hes telling us engine numbers. if so, the dyno operator is still FOS
