Default NEED INPUT, Sensor Problem

Hi guys,

I took my car in not too long ago to be looked at for a problem I was having. Whenever I turned on the A/C or defroster, the car would lose a lot of power. I could feel it hesitate sometimes in the pedal, and the RPMs would go haywire at idle.

The guys at the shop told me I need a new A/C low pressure sensor, because the old one is causing the compressor to kick on and off constantly. They quoted me $20 for the sensor (apparently I have to buy it straight from Ford), and $60 to install.

Can anyone give me any input on this, or your experience with sensors? It sounds like I'll be paying them $60 to simply unplug the old one and put in the new one. I want this problem fixed - can I do it myself, or should I bring it back in?
