ok, so i jus bought a trans for a 2001 and put it in, and wen u put it in nuetral and pull the shift left to put it in first it will not pull left and u can only push into 3rd, 4th, 5th and R. can somebody help? did i get screwed w/ a crap trans!?

When you put the shifter in, did you make sure you put the bottom of the shifter in the hole of the trans that the shifter moves? Maybe its bound on one side of it. Thats all I can think of.

Probably so...I was about to say if you were having trouble getting it into first that it might be your pressure plate...But you can't even move it over...Try doing it while the car is running and with it off...If that doesn't work...I think you might have gotten screwed.

i took the shifter out and took out the part that the ball end of shifter goes and then tried to turn the wat i think is the shift fork maybe? (long pole that turns and moves up and down) and it would not turn towards 1st wen in nuetral. im soo pissed cuz i jus did this whole job myself cuz my 3-4 shift gate went and now im just as screwed as b4!!!!!! and at 18 i have no more cash for this thing!

On the T45 trans like you purchased it is common to have a 1-2 Shift Fork inside the Trans go bad. If that happens it will not go into either gear. What did you pay for the trans?

i paid 425, and wuld that be the shift gate? i mean even wen its in nuetral it wont push over to lign up w/ 1-2.
