Default mustang jenny craig??

I saw in last months mm&ff that they brought an 05 stang with a few bolt ons and changed everything to lighter weight and made 12s. will that work with the 99-04s?? if i changed the k member, driveshaft, flywheel, etc would i have the same gains

Yes. If you pull out all your sound foam, remove back seat, pull out spare, have a lighter k member, drive shaft, fly wheel, ultra light 15in rims, skinny's in front, carbon fiber hood, and anything else you can find on the car to lighten it, you would drop time off.. its the same for any factory car... They say 100lbs is good for about .1 in the 1/4..... not an exact thing by anymeans though.

i wouldnt do the 15 in rims and/or skinnies unless thats just for drag, ride quality would be horrible. you can get 16-18 inch rims that are lightweight.

the rest are excellent options for losing weight. lightweight and v8's dont mix well though, takes stronger/heavier parts to run a v8, and also the v8 itself weighs, and the frame/chasis its mounted to.

i think our stangs can potentially lose 200-300lbs without sacraficing too much. 400-500 lbs stretching it, and 1000 lbs if you ripped out the whole drivetrain and just coasted.

Don't forget that the 05 started off with a bit more power under the hood, 3v. So your "few bolt ons" may need to be more than a few and the weight reduction more significant than what they did. If I remember the numbers (advertised) an 05 has about a 50 hp lead on a 99-04.
