Laugh all you want, brain buckets help keep you speaking in full sentences...even breathing.
It's track by track...obviously. Mine here just stopped letting verts go at all, even on t and t night. (figures, right as I got mine, but the mach has a solid top )
2 cars locked in by k-rails slightly wider than 2 lanes...plenty of schmuck teens with licenses who's lamination is still wet ready to line up right next to you.....thinking helmet not a bad idea.
When I tried the track for the first time I didn't wear one, but then, I was driving a car that was lucky to hit 17's (hey, it was consistant, even if I wasn't) so most who lined up next to me were so far gone that I didn't have to worry bout them.
Matt, as far as that "waiver" is concerned, I'll tell you right now that if a track is being operated in a reckless manner (rules?, what rules? sign here...) any dimestore lawyer will shred it in court and the track owners know it. At least the smart ones do. I suspect that's why verts were finally black listed at our local.

We also allow verts at our track. There are rules to go by. Like I said earlier, if you run in the 10s you have to have a cage. If you don't you get sent home.
Also, this is ONLY on test and tune nights.

All tracks require a helmet

Yes all tracks do require helmets but it depends on the track and what you run in the 1/4. At New England Dragway in Epping, NH if your car runs quicker then 13.99 then you need a helmet. Anything slower then that you dont need 1.
